"Dueling Strings"
Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 2:30 pm

Michael Chaffin, double bass  Anne Sullivan, harp

No, not dueling banjos! This duo is double bass and harp, lots of strings, lots of sound, lots of energy! Bassist Michael Chaffin returns to Shade Mountain with his latest concert music for bass, teamed with harpist Anne Sullivan. This is not your grandmother's chamber music concert!

Warning: This concert has an early start time (2:30 pm) because the Super Bowl wouldn't change theirs. Come enjoy some fabulous music and then go root for the team of your choice!

Diane Toulson, flute  Smith Toulson, clarinet
Brent Register, English horn Anne Sullivan, harp

Winds meet strings in this program of music from France, Spain and the Americas.

Harpist Anne Sullivan is joined by guest artists Diane Toulson, flute; Smith Toulson, clarinet; and Brent Register, English horn in a delightful and unusual musical collaboration.

The Toulsons are familiar to the winery audience, where they have appeared as the Easterly Chamber Players. Brent Register makes his first Shade Mountain appearance. He is Professor of Music at Clarion University, and performs regularly with the Nittany Valley Symphony in State College, as well as solo oboe with the Easterly Chamber Players.
